Rowly

Rowly and your Notion workspace

Every Rowly app connects to Notion through the same connection, called Rowly. This page covers what that connection can do in your workspace. What each app reads from your store, Stripe account or Jira site is covered by that app's own privacy policy, linked below.

The short version

Only the pages you pick

Rowly can see only the pages you tick on Notion's approval screen, and you can change them any time.

Writes its own table

It creates one table there and writes one row per order, payment or issue. It never reads your other content.

No user information

The connection asks Notion for no names or emails of the people in your workspace.

Tokens encrypted

Notion's access token is stored encrypted and deleted when you disconnect or uninstall.

What the connection is

Rowly is a family of apps made by LMB Technology, a small software studio in Fort Myers, Florida. Each app writes records from another service (store orders, Stripe payments or Jira issues) into a table in your Notion workspace and keeps each row up to date. When you press "Connect Notion" in one of the apps, Notion shows its own approval screen for the Rowly connection.

What it can do in Notion

  • See only the pages you select on Notion's approval screen (and the pages inside them). You can change the selection later from Notion's Connections settings.
  • Read, update and insert content in those pages, which it uses to create its table and write rows.
  • No comments, and no information about the people in your workspace: the connection asks Notion for no user information at all.

What it writes

One table in the page you choose (for example "Shopify orders", "Stripe payments" or "Jira issues"), and one row per record, updated when the record changes. It lists your pages so you can pick where the table goes, checks that its table still exists, and otherwise never reads your workspace. It does not read, change or delete other pages, rows you added, or columns you added to its table.

How the connection is made and kept

After you approve, Notion sends a one-time code to lmbtechnology.com, LMB Technology's website, which exchanges it for an access token. The website holds that token encrypted for at most 15 minutes, until the Rowly app you are using collects it, and then deletes it. The app stores the token encrypted (AES-256) on its own server and uses it only to write your table. When Notion renews the token, the renewal passes through the same website without being kept there.

Your Notion content is governed by Notion's privacy policy. Rowly never sells, shares or uses anything from your workspace for advertising or analytics.

The Rowly apps and their policies

Each app's policy says exactly what it reads from its service, what it keeps, and where it runs:

Removing Rowly

Press "Disconnect" on Rowly's page in the app, or uninstall the app: its server deletes your Notion token and its records for your account. You can also remove Rowly in Notion under Settings, Connections, which stops it at once. Tables and rows Rowly already wrote stay in your workspace, because they are yours.
